Dreaming about fingernails can seem quite harmless, innocuous, and even routine. After all, most people look at their hands and, in the process, get a glimpse of their fingernails. In fact, if you dream about fingernails, you might quickly forget about your dream.
Indeed, many of us are so interested in the shape and overall health of our nails that the United States has a multi-billion-dollar nail care industry.
What does it mean when your subconscious sends you the symbol of fingernails in a dream? I’m talking about the dream image of your dirty nails, nail polish, or even your long nails being the main focus of your nighttime visions.
Generally speaking, when you see fingernails in a dream, it represents your ideas about your self-image. It implies feelings of self-worth, your confidence in yourself, as well as your self-esteem.
This otherwise routine, everyday image speaks volumes about what your impressions are of what you’ve accomplished so far, your accomplishments, and where you think you’re going. That’s quite a lot of dream meaning for a part of your body that sometimes sports fake nails. What’s going on?
Well, it isn’t much of a stretch; when you really think about it, how your fingernails look reflects your true feelings—whether they are positive, negative, or somewhere in between. You can consider these fingernails in a dream imagery as an indicator of your overall mood but ultimately leading to a sense of self-worth, self-confidence, self-esteem.
General Dream Interpretations of Finger Nails
The dream interpretation of nails or a fingernail must be viewed in terms of specific life periods. It’s important to keep this in mind.
Just because you see images of nail polish, dirty nails, fake nails, long nails, broken nails, or any other type of adornment or lack of hygiene involving your nails doesn’t mean that this indicates your ultimate character. This type of imagery is not pointing to a part of you that will never change.
Don’t think that just because you had some sort of emotional response to seeing your nails in your dream that this somehow encapsulates who you’ve become, who you were, who you are, and whatever it is you’re capable of becoming. It is not your essence. Let’s just get that out of the way.
Don’t think that just because you feel like that dream image of white nail polish indicates a certain aspect of your personality that that is your true character. Remember, character is bound by space and time. You may come across some sort of imagery that would throw you off.
Don’t think that this is some sort of final judgment. It isn’t—it’s a snapshot of a specific short or long period of your life as you journey through it.
Being unhappy with the imagery of nails means that you have a lot to say about your life. If you are frustrated at where you work, how much money you make, or the things that you can afford, please remember that this comes from a choice or a series of choices.
Just as you had the power to make them, you also have the power and freedom to make different decisions that would lead to different places. But there are certain truths that nails imagery brings to the table.
First, hard work wins. Believe it or not, it took a lot of hard work to get to where you are. You took a lot of focus, willpower, or just plain, old lack of caring to not make decisions or make certain choices that led to where you are.
Now, imagine if you put in that same level of work and focus on choices that could lead to a different place. It’s your call. At the end of the day, hard work and sacrifice will pay off. It just depends on what you are aiming for.
The reason why people find themselves in a spot where they’re frustrated is that they did not put in enough time to choose their path. It’s as if people chose their path for them. But it still requires hard work and sacrifice to get there.
This is why it’s crucial to be more self-aware and also be honest about your real feelings. If you are not happy in any way, give yourself permission to feel it. Maybe the sense of urgency that you will get would be enough to push you to make different decisions and put in the work towards those goals.
What Does a Recurring Nail Dream Mean?
If you keep dreaming about images of your nail, and they take most of your dream, your subconscious is telling you that there is going to be a lesson that you’re going to need to learn in your journey. If you don’t learn this lesson, guess what happens?
You get another chance to learn it. Again and again, it goes until you decide to respond in a different way.
You have to understand that whatever it is that you are frustrated and upset about in your life are often opportunities. If you are in any way spiritually minded, you can even look at them as blessings. They are giving you a doorway to positive changes in your character.
If you change your character, you start changing your mindset. When you change your mindset, you start to change your emotional state. When that changes, you decide things in a different way. This is the point where the world will sit up and pay attention.
When you take action, there is going to be a reaction. You can take that to the bank. That’s how you change your external world. It starts to line up with the world that you have chosen internally.
This is a very powerful process, but very few people take hold of it. They don’t want to master it. In fact, too many of us don’t even want to be aware of this process because it means responsibility. It also means taking ownership of everything that’s gone wrong in real life.
Can you imagine that? You no longer have anybody to blame. You run out of excuses—very scary thought for a lot of people, and that’s why they’d rather ignore this reality.
But if you take control of it, who knows where you end up? Even your biggest dreams might even prove to be too small because you’ve sold yourself short all this time.
A dream about fingernails can also speak about your attachments to people, memories, past events, mindsets, or past relationships.
Why is it that we sometimes hang on to negative memories that almost always bring out the worst in us?
Do you remember that aunt or family member that used to call you fat? Or how about that bully—maybe he slapped you around in front of the other girls? Or that dude in junior high who gave you a wedgie? Remember your first boss, where he humiliated you?
Why do we hang on to these? It’s not like it’s doing us any good. Maybe the reason why we feel so small and tend to limit ourselves as to what we can and cannot do and places where we can and cannot go has something to do with our attachment to these.
Well, let me tell you: we all draw some sort of benefit from it. It is either a sense of moral superiority or the comforting and numbing sensation that we are—somehow, someway—victims.
Let me tell you: when you start imagining yourself as some sort of victim, it feels awesome. It’s like taking emotional heroin. Why?
It drugs from the reality that you have to grow up eventually. Yes—that means realizing that life is tough and unfair. If you think the past was rough? Wait until you see the future.
The question is not whether the world is unfair and unjust. The question is, “what are you going to do about it?” It means becoming an adult, working on the things that you can change, being patient with the ones that you can’t, and moving on.
Repeatedly seeing the dream imagery for nails means that it’s speaking to you that you’re clawing your hands against things that you’re holding on to. You love attaching yourself to these things because they do have a benefit at some level or other.
But part of you is clawing against it—struggling and trying to free itself—because it knows it’s a trap. Understand this inner conflict.
Ultimately, if you get to the bottom of it, you will be able to find the courage to let go and take ownership of your life path. Whoever you have become is a product of your choices—not your parents, not your past, not the country you come from, not the religion you believe in, not your lack of religion. None of that matters.
What matters is what you choose to do and become today.
But it’s very scary. It’s like leaving a cave and having your eyes adjust to the bright, unforgiving light of the sun.
Dream Interpretation for Dirty Nails
To dream about dirty fingernails means you have low self-worth.
When it comes to certain areas of your life, you feel like you’re not worthy. Maybe you think you’re not handsome or good-looking enough. Maybe you think you’re not smart enough or even lucky enough.
Whatever the case may be, there’s a part of yourself that you think is just not worth other people’s time. Since these parts exist, deep down inside, you feel that you really don’t deserve the best that life has to offer.
Now, don’t get me wrong; you still think that you deserve something because a part of you is thinking that life tests you and that it is unfair and all that. But even if you confront that feeling, it’s not going to reach out and grab the biggest share of the best things in life.
Instead, you have a small mindset as far as what you think you deserve out of life goes. Deep down inside, you think you’re simply not good enough.
Maybe this has something to do with your upbringing. Perhaps it is related to a past trauma that you experienced. Whatever the case may be, it warped your self-worth. If you are frustrated with the results that life is giving you, you might want to consider what you think you deserve.
Remember, if you work really hard, plan ahead, and put in the necessary sacrifice, you will get somewhere. The problem is you can only receive from the universe a reward that can fit in your mental wallet.
If you think that you are trash, ugly, repulsive, untrustworthy, and ultimately of no value, how much reward do you think you will get? Very little. It’s very hard to accept the blessings of the universe when your hands are clenched or it’s open in tiny cups.
Open your palms up. With the right mindset, you will be able to claim blessings from the universe, and it’s a free-for-all. You receive whatever you’re capable of receiving.
Dreams About Different Types of Nails and What They Represent
Dirty fingernails can also relate to your level of knowledge.
You may think that you don’t know enough. Or, more commonly, you think that there are certain areas of knowledge that are either too complicated for you or simply not worth your time. Whatever the case may be, you just wrote those things off.
You have to understand that a lot of people who could otherwise practice medicine, code complicated computer programs, and do all sorts of amazing things choose not to because they automatically assume that they’re not up to the job of understanding those things.
It’s as if they have cut themselves off from the competition without even being asked. Not surprisingly, dream imagery of your nail being dirty often indicate one’s inability to be objective about things. You have to be careful when you get this dream signal.
Also, when you see someone else’s nails in a dream—maybe the dirty nails of your co-workers or a friend’s—it can indicate that no matter how you feel about that person in your waking life, you don’t truly trust them.
At the very least, you’re afraid that if you spill your secrets to this person, they will eventually let others know about your secrets and fears. You have serious doubts about their loyalty to you.
Images of nails that are filthy can indicate that your partner is not loyal to you. Now, please understand that this is your perception, but there’s a lot there. Why?
Your subconscious is actually quite perceptive. Your waking mind can easily be distracted, especially when you have a lot of duties, responsibilities, and obligations. If you’re very busy, your waking mind can only take in and focus on a rather small set of information at one time.
But your subconscious is unlimited. It’s picking up signals every single second. And one way it can communicate patterns that it detects and dots that it has connected is through your dreams.
When you see your partner’s nail as being filthy in your dream, it can indicate that they may be straying from you. Now, this doesn’t mean that they’re cheating, but it can also mean that they’re falling out of love with you.
Whatever the case may be, your relationship is not as rock-solid as you would have hoped.
This type of dream imagery also can be a signal that your ventures, whether it’s a business venture or educational project, are not doing well. Ultimately, unkempt and sloppy nails symbolize lack of care, being negligent, or not being focused enough.
When you see this imagery, it can also indicate the possible appearance or presence of disease or illnesses. You might have initial symptoms now, and you’re just not aware of it.
Whatever the case may be, sloppy and unkempt nails might point to health issues in the near future. At the very least, you should pay more attention to your health.
What Does Dreaming of Fake Nails Mean?
When you dream of nails that are obviously pressed on or made out of plastic, your subconscious is telling you that you are pretending to be somebody else.
Usually, when people pretend to be somebody else, it’s a conscious act. You know it, and if you’re not careful, other people know it. You’re just going through the motions. Maybe you’re parroting somebody, or it’s your close friend or close friends, and you’re just mirroring whatever she is saying and doing.
When you see this type of nails in your dream, it’s really a wake-up call from your subconscious to be more confident about who you are and what you’re about.
Deep down inside, people who try to be other people are actually afraid of themselves. They’re afraid of appreciating themselves, or they have already dismissed their value.
However you want to cut it, you are not content with yourself. For you to feel happy, complete, and get a sense of belonging and acceptance, you have to pretend to be somebody else.
When you see fake finger nails in a dream, it can also mean that someone you know has found out about your secret. They can see how fake and artificial you are. So they start spreading stories about you. In your mind, they’re false stories. But if you are completely honest, there’s a lot of truth in what they’re saying.
Finally, when you see a dream image of your acrylic nails falling off, it can mean that you have been found out, and the act is over. At this juncture, you really have two opportunities.
A lot of people think that this is a bad thing—being found out; not much different from being stripped naked in front of a group of strangers. The truth is, what are you going to do about it?
Maybe you can use the sense of shame and embarrassment to get a sense of urgency and discover who you really are and what you’re about. If anything, this might be the push that you need to really start showing your own skin and your own face and being your own person.
Don’t worry about keeping your friends. If they hung on to that fake identity, then they have no business being your friends in the first place.
What Does It Mean to Dream About Polishing Your Nails?
To dream about polishing your nails means that you are the type of person who is practicing a healthy lifestyle. You understand that mental and emotional hygiene are important, so you practice lifestyle habits that enable you to improve your well-being.
This means not just eating the right foods and exercising; it also means letting go of toxic memories, being more selective as far as your friends go, and investing in the spiritual meaning of your health by doing meditation and mindfulness on a regular basis.
To dream about nail polish also means that you are not afraid to try new things. You are open-minded. This enables you to reconnect with your sense of adventure and possibility.
This frees you up in many areas of your life—not just in terms of travel and adventure. It also means that you are more likely to take business risks. This can lead to financial success.
Nail polish comes in different styles and colors. When you focus on the nail polish colors in your dream, this means that you are confident in who you can be and who you are. You are not afraid to stand out, and you’re definitely not going to be shy when it comes to sharing your opinions.
As you step out more boldly and you think about what you say, and you compare it with your experiences and what you’ve learned, people can more readily see that your ideas are brilliant and you are worth paying attention to.
Different Nail Colors and What They Represent in a Dream
A dream of having polished nails means that you are regretting something you said to a relative.
When you notice that your nails are super polished, and it’s as if the light is just bouncing out, this glare indicates that you feel bad about certain things that you’ve said to somebody that’s close to you. You want to make amends with them and fixed your family life.
As you probably already know, the only people that can truly and deeply hurt you are the ones you allow to get close to you. I’m talking about family.
It’s important to swallow your pride and do what you need to do to fix your family life.
What Do Beautiful Nail Polish Colors Mean?
The following are quick interpretations of the most common beautiful nail polish colors currently available on the market. Obviously, they have different dream interpretations because of their difference in color and, oftentimes, the context in which they appear in your nighttime visions.
White Nails
White nails can indicate sorrow, sadness, and misery.
In the East—in particular, China—white is a color of mourning, temporary loss, pain, and bereavement. If you notice in your dream that the white nail polish is taking center stage, sit up and listen.
You may be feeling sad, but you don’t quite know it, or there are certain things happening in your life that you should give yourself permission to feel bad about and, by doing so, let it out of your system.
Pink Nails
If you imagine yourself wearing pink-colored nails, it means that a part of you craves attention. You want to be where the spotlight is. Maybe you’re thinking that you have better looks or have a much bubblier personality than your friends.
But, for whatever reason, you’re there at the back of the crowd. Feeling like you’re another face in the crowd eats you up. You want to stand out.
When you see pink nails in your dream, this can indicate that you should allow this part of yourself to come out more often. Say something crazy. Go out on a limb.
It may well turn out that somebody out there is trying to flirt with you—they see your value. But since you’re so afraid of sticking out, you’re like a wallflower, and nobody’s going to notice. You’re out there in the shadows.
Yellow Nails
Generally speaking, the dream meaning of yellow nails represents happiness, joy, and success. Its bright colors indicate that you’re either overcoming a storm—may be a bad relationship or trauma from your past—or there is a bright future ahead of you.
Whatever the case may be, this is a good sign that brighter days are up ahead. Your subconscious is letting you know that you’ve laid the foundation. You’ve already hurt. You’ve already moved on. And the wounds have already healed.
With that said, yellow-colored nails can also indicate toxic positivity. This can become a really bad habit. You think that if you’re just positive, bubbly, and cheerful, good things will happen. No—not automatically, at least. While it’s great that you feel good and look forward to tomorrow, you also have to take action.
Fear mixed with positivity doesn’t go anywhere. Laziness mixed with optimism ensures that you stay in the same place.
Blue Nails
If you see this dream imagery, it can symbolize the fact that there are certain things about other people or your past that you are now, finally, coming to grips with.
You can now accept certain things, and this gives you a deep sense of serenity. You feel that you don’t have to struggle anymore. You don’t have to try to change that part of your life—it’s gone. This sense of peace gives you a tremendous amount of strength, and you look forward to being more available to and supportive of your friends and family.
Before you know it, if you pay closer attention to this dream imagery, blue nails can also mean that you’ve developed to a point where you feel you can overcome any obstacle.
Red Nails
Red nails have different meanings depending on who is in the scene of your dream, and you have to be very careful in finding its meaning.
Generally speaking, it means that there is a conflict in your family involving pride. The good news is that after the strong emotions have passed, you will be able to fix it and reconcile with whomever you need to make amends with.
This brings me to the next meaning of red nails in a familial context: it means forgiveness and accepting the fact that you were hurt but being courageous enough to move on.
You have to understand that forgiveness requires courage because there’s always a risk that the injury will happen again. But you have to move on. You can’t stay in that emotional hole forever because you’re not going to grow. You’re going to have to move on.
This can mean making peace with your perceived “enemies.” Oftentimes, your worst enemy is yourself. It can also mean rebuilding your relationships.
Most of the time, such reconciliations can also trigger dreaming of dead animals in the form of white and black birds. This is a positive sign.
Finally, a red nail can also indicate passion. Maybe there’s a part of yourself that you are repressing. Maybe you’re looking for intense sexual experiences and pleasure.
Do not be afraid to tell your intimate partner about this. If you are doing things a certain way, and you’re not getting what you want out of it, you’re the one losing out. Your partner thinks that you’re doing okay, and they definitely got what they wanted. So they’re thinking that things are okay.
Remember, it’s a relationship. You have to speak up. You’re not being a slut or a toxic man by simply asking for pleasure the way you want. Relationships are supposed to go both ways. It’s a two-way street.
Other Common Dreams About Nails
To dream about very long nails can mean many things. It can represent monetary payment or some sort of financial reward. It can also mean reaping good profits from your own business.
In contrast, long nails in a dream symbolizes that a financial problem is about to happen soon. It’s important to look at the details and see which interpretation applies more to your situation.
Regardless, when you see long nails in a dream, and it’s in the context of a bad financial prediction, it also can indicate that your friends will be there to bail you out.
Additionally, long nails in a dream can represent ruined hopes, dashed dreams, and a deep and profound sense of disappointment.
The problem with having very long nails is you cannot grip things very carefully and effectively. This means that your sense of control over certain areas of your life becomes loose until you sense that you’ve completely let them go.
Most people who go through this phase often also ask, “what does a dream about childhood home scenes mean?” when they see the vivid image of their memories and past experiences.
Not surprisingly, dreaming of very long finger nails can also mean that you cannot let go of certain memories from your past. You keep thinking about them, and they get in your own way of you accumulating the kind of wisdom that you need to overcome and become more victorious in life.
The Meaning of Broken Long Fingernails
While long fingernails can portend or point to negative interpretations, if you see dream imagery featuring broken long fingernails, it can mean that you’re finally moving on from whatever it is that’s holding you back.
Usually, this involves some sort of mindset, or things that you used to assume were true about yourself and your character.
When you keep seeing images of broken nails, it means that you’ve finally gotten out from under the spell of your old mindsets and mental habits, and the world is yours to shape according to your will. The question is: are you courageous enough to do that?
Do you give yourself permission to go out there and give yourself the future you feel you deserve?
Short Fingernails or Short Nails Dream Meaning
When you see this type of imagery, your subconscious is telling you to stop and relax. You’re just becoming too fuzzy, too particular, and finicky. If you don’t get your way, you become anxious, and this leads to unnecessary mental and emotional tension.
Take a deep breath, relax, and remember that it’s not that big of a deal. Step back and do what you need to do. Practice mindfulness. Rediscover inner calm. Or even go all out and adopt a meditation practice.
What Does It Mean to Dream of Cutting Your Own Nails?
When you see yourself cutting your fingernails, it just means that part of you is saying that you need to get your life in order.
Deep down inside, you feel that things have spiraled out of control, and now is the time to dig in your heels, roll up your sleeves, and do the heavy work so that you can start living the life that you feel you deserve. Part of you is already realizing this once you start seeing yourself cutting your own nails.
Still, there are many ways to do so. One dream image involves slicing or cutting your own fingernails. Put in another way, you’re having a manicure done.
When you see this manicure happening in your dream, it can indicate that you don’t feel that you have what it takes to deal with your issues. You know you have low self-esteem issues, and you’re not all that comfortable with certain areas of your personality and your character. You want to change all these things.
But part of you is thinking that you don’t have what it takes. So either you have to go get a professional—and this is symbolized by the manicurist—or any which way will get you there, so you just cut your own fingernails, bite on them, or slice them.
What Does It Mean When You See Yourself Cutting Toenails?
Believe it or not, there’s a spiritual meaning to the image of cutting toe nails, and it’s a good sign. At a deep level, it means that you are making a spiritual breakthrough because you’ve realized that there are a lot of thoughts from your childhood that you’ve hung on to for all this time.
It’s as if you felt that you could not be yourself, or you even drew your identity based on these ideas. It turns out that those ideas were not freely chosen by you. You seem to have just “inherited” them.
Now, keep in mind that this doesn’t just happen within families. It also happens within social groups or class status.
For example, if you grew up in a poor or working-class area, you’d think that you’re supposed to think a certain way. You’re thinking that there are certain expectations of you when it comes to your actions or behavior.
But as you mature and see other things in life—this is often analogized in the imagery of walking, and thereby the connection to toenails—you quickly realize that you don’t have to hang on to these things. You can reinvent yourself. You can be your own young man or young woman.
If Your Dreams Are About Your Own Toenails, It Indicates You Want to Be Respected
Maybe you’re the type of person who feels that your toes are always being stepped on. Welcome to the club. This happens to many of us—I would say, the majority—at some time in our lives.
There’s a part of ourselves that wants to be respected or even feared. We look at that organization chart, and we wish that we were a bit higher up on that order. Maybe, then, we would get the respect we feel we deserve.
Focusing on your toenails in your dream means that this part of yourself is speaking loudly. Pay attention. If you want respect, you have to be worthy of it. This means being more fearless, doing things differently, and confronting your fears.
It’s one thing to demand respect; it’s another to actively work for it and thereby deserve it—two totally different things. Unfortunately, people confuse the two, and that’s why they go nowhere.
Please understand that toenails, regardless of whether they’re manicured or not, are a symbol of strength and resilience. They protect the vulnerable part of your toes as you trudge forward through the hard soil or even mud of life.
Interestingly enough, the dream meaning behind somebody else’s toenails is that you’re looking up to that person. There’s something about that person’s courage, audacity, and seeming fearlessness that you wish you have.
What Does It Mean to Dream About Your Fingernails Falling?
When your dream focuses on a fingernail or your own fingernails falling off or chipping, it means that you have a very angry side to you. Instead of seeking to be understood, you jump in and get into a quarrel after quarrel. There’s a part of you that considers insults as a valid form of argumentation.
According to some traditions, an additional meaning of seeing your fingernails fall out points to some upcoming death in the family.
If you see this image, and it’s very strong in your mind, when you wake up, think about people close to you who may have had health issues. Your subconscious may be telling you about things it’s picking up that your waking mind may be either actively denying or has simply overlooked because you’re too busy.
Dreaming About Having Beautiful Nails Is a Good Sign
“Beauty” is, by definition, subjective. What looks pleasant to you might be downright ugly to somebody else. I just want to make sure that you’re aware of that.
When you dream of seeing beautiful nails, please understand that this is subjective. Those nails are beautiful because you’ve put that label on them. Assume the responsibility for what happens next, which is the interpretation for those beautiful fingernails.
Generally speaking, when you see this kind of imagery, it indicates that you think your future is going to be bright.
A part of you is saying that you have what it takes. You’re creative, you’re eager to learn, and you learn from your mistakes. When you put all of these together, there’s enough there to ensure some level of success in the nearest future.
Similarly, if you dream about well-manicured fingernails, it means that you feel that you’ve come across the right plan for things to pan out in your life. This doesn’t just involve your financial health. It can also involve your hygiene and personal health.
What Do Dreams of Polishing Your Nails Mean?
When you see yourself polishing your nails in your nighttime vision, it means that a part of you is glamorous. You want to experience, enjoy, and celebrate the finer things in life. At the same time, you’re also respectful of the fact that different people have different preferences.
This part of yourself is speaking to you because you may be too busy, or you feel that you have other obligations, and you’re not giving yourself enough self-care. You might want to do that because it can help you in other areas of your life.
To dream of someone scratching your back with their nails is a favorable sign. This type of dream represents that your current relationship is going to go to the next level in terms of romantic intimacy.
Alternatively, this dream of scratching can mean that you’re going to meet somebody new that will give you the kind of emotional and sexual satisfaction that you felt you’ve been missing out on or you think you haven’t been getting.
Regardless, something big in terms of your emotional life is coming. It will also help if you see the face of the person scratching your back.
A dream about having beautiful fingers means that you are respected by other people. It means that you are able to convert your self-confidence into outer confidence. This can lead to more people respecting you.
But your subconscious is also telling you that this can lead to people being envious and developing a crab mentality against you.
There are people out there that are so sad and practice so much self-hate that it eats them up to see somebody get ahead. So instead of putting all that focus, energy, and emotional firepower into improving themselves so that they can level up, they invest those resources to taking somebody down.
They’d rather have everybody be stuck at the bottom than seeing somebody rise to the top and, by doing so, help the ones that are left behind. Go figure.
Dream Example #1
I was blushing, dancing, singing. My fiance was coming from China to meet me. YAYY!! I was standing in front of my wardrobe, selecting and trying out different dresses. It was such a special occasion for me.
I wanted to look my best for him and for the beautiful time we would be having together. I liked keeping my belongings in order and tidy. But the occasion had gotten me all excited. The whole room got messed up with piles of clothes every two-inch on the bed.
My fiance liked light-colored dresses on me. I decided to wear a pastel green color shirt with white jeans and my favorite white sneakers.
I selected my outfit and then headed out to the dressing table to match the jewelry. I picked out a pair of gold, round earrings with some gold midi rings. I admired the nose-ring and bracelet; my fiance had gifted me on his last visit. I selected the most seductive perfume from my vast perfume collection.
While I picked out everything for the fore coming night, I noticed that my nails were in bad shape. Not only that, two fingernails got broken.
I got perplexed because I was sensitive about my nails. Also, I didn’t notice them getting broken. I didn’t want to waste any time more time over the nails tragedy. I decided to change first and then hit the salon to get the nails done.
I wore my outfit and jewelry and got my makeup done. I then headed to the salon. I had to get nail extensions due to the broken nails. I got pastel color nails done and headed back home.
When he arrived, I quickly went to my dresser one last time to admire myself. When I opened the shelf of my dresser, I saw two of my fingernails resting there as if carefully placed by someone.
They were no nail extensions but legit nails. I had lost two today, but I didn’t expect them to be found here like that.
Surprisingly, I looked at my hand, but all the work that I got done from the salon had vanished. I saw bare human nails which looked nasty. I realized, more of my nails were missing. They broke in the same pattern as the previous ones. I couldn’t comprehend the situation.
When I looked down at my hands again, I saw a yellow-colored fungus all over my nails.
I screamed my mom’s name to call her. The moment she saw my nails, her’s started getting infected too. We figured the infection was contagious. I had three other sisters in another room, doing their chores.
My mom and I didn’t leave the room to protect them. After a few minutes, I heard the screams of them saying their nails were getting yellow.
The infection didn’t stop on the nails. It started spreading from nails to the hand and then the entire body. The nails became yellow; the rest of the body became green. It showed dark stretch marks over the green color. All of us looked like zombies.
Dream interpretation and symbology have fascinated me ever since I read Freud’s classic, “The Interpretation of Dreams.” Ever since, I have explored Christian, Jewish, Hindu, and Buddhist as well as Jungian psychological ideas about the meaning of dreams. Thanks for joining me in my exploration of the amazing intersection between our conscious waking world and the rich expanse of our subconscious-the home of our intuition, instincts, and hidden potential.
