If you’ve ever had a dream of water in a house, you can easily be forgiven for forgetting about your dream. In fact, this type of dream imagery or night vision is easy to overlook.
Of all the possible nighttime visions you could have, stretching anywhere from seeing alligators, goats, dragons, demons, witches, or even being chased by cannibals, a dream of water leaking somewhere in a house looks innocent indeed.
In fact, it’s so easy to forget and that’s precisely what people do, but this is a mistake.
General Dream Interpretation of Water Leaking
If the central focus of your dream involves water leaking from any part of your house, you have to sit up and pay attention because your subconscious is actually telling you something very important about your finances and, depending on the context, your spiritual state.
Heavy stuff!
Most people would not admit to it, but most people actually worry about money. It sounds kind of crass to admit, but money is what makes the world go around.
As much as we hate to admit it, we tend to rank each other based on how much money we make and by extension where we stand as far as this social pyramid goes.
No wonder, if you go to any kind of social situation, people ask you what you do for a living. This is really is a socially accepted way of asking where are you in this great social hierarchy.
Status Anxiety
There’s a big difference between being a janitor and being the CEO of a Fortune 500 company and being a doctor or somebody in the middle.
Is it unfair? Is it arbitrary? Is it unjust?
Well, we all know the answer. Life is unfair. This thing called social status exists.
Since money plays such a big role in our day-to-day psychic life, both waking and less-than-conscious, it’s not a surprise at all to discover that it takes many different forms when it comes to our dreams.
That’s why when you have a dream of water leaking in house, or if you find yourself dreaming leaking ceiling pipes, or there’s something else involving leaking ceiling parts, this all tend to have something to do with either money or a deeper spiritual issue if you think about it hard enough.
When you dream of water or any other kind of fluid, this leaking from any part of your house indicates emotions, feelings of self-worth, and even identity.
Heavy stuff!
And right smack in the middle, of course, is something that calls your attention to your relationship with money.
Your Relationship with Money
Since money plays such a big role in many different people’s lives, this is a part of a series of dream imagery that you really can’t run away from because.
Now, you may be imagining yourself as somebody who doesn’t need money or somebody who is somehow free from the vulgar concerns of having to earn a living on a day-to-day basis. You’d rather focus on your creativity or your spiritual side.
I get that.
But for You to Even Afford That Kind of Luxury, You Still Have to Have a Material Basis
And yes, I’m talking about the crass, everyday reality of cash. So, we’re back to square one.
Whatever relationship you may have with the dirty, day-to-day hustle of making money, thinking about money, and thinking of making it, welcome to the club!
There’s nothing dirty about it. In fact, it’s the stuff of life.
And maybe the reason why you are experiencing dream images of leaking water or any kind of leaks involving your home might indicate that you are quite insecure or have inner conflicts with your relationship with money.
What Does a Leaking Home Mean?
When you see water leaking in a house or a part of a house, you are looking at your total psychic state. By psychic state, I’m talking about your spiritual side, your psychological side, as well as your emotions, mindsets, habits, and points of view
This, for lack of a better word, is your personal operating system.
To use an analogy, when you look at different people from all over the world, we all have pretty much the same hardware. We have these two sets of eyes, two arms, and a torso. We are powered by blood.
I can go on down the line. When it comes to hardware, we’re pretty much the same.
But what makes us different in terms of our clothes, the food we choose to eat, the people we choose to hang out with, or the languages that we speak is what truly makes us human.
That’s the Function of Software
And just like with computers, you can take two people with the same hardware but install different mental and psychic operating systems when you have two totally different people.
They look at the world differently. They feel differently about different things, and they can see the exact same collection of objective phenomena and walk away with two completely different interpretations, which lead to different decisions on a day-to-day basis.
In other words, they live different lives.
What if I told you that two people can start with the same bone-crushing poverty and the same lack of material opportunities and end up in completely different places?
One person doesn’t go far. They’re born with nothing and they end up with nothing.
The other person dies a rich woman.
What’s the difference? Mindset!
Your Mindset Determines Your Destiny
There’s an old saying among rich people: “I’ve been broke, but I’ve never been poor.”
A lot of people like to make fun of that, but it’s very deep and it’s very real.
While you may not have much control over what you’re born with or the initial place that you have to start with or the level of resources you have access to, you best believe you have a lot of choice when it comes to how you choose to respond to all of that.
There are many cases of people who start off with just a shirt off their back, (and I’m talking about the typical immigrant story in places like Hong Kong, the United States, Canada, Australia, and elsewhere) and within a generation, the family of that person owns whole industries. That’s not an accident.
But we tell ourselves all sorts of comforting fiction regarding life and its outcomes. We try to abstract it away or worse yet we come up with really just a highfaluting rationalization as to why things are just decided by the roll of a dice.
But let me tell you this. People who win the lottery almost always lose that money because it’s not the amount of instant cash that makes them rich.
You can take a poor person and put tens of millions of dollars in her hands, and if she goes without the advice of a professional financial planner, you best believe that most of that cash will be gone in a short period of time.
And I’m not just talking about lottery winners here. The same phenomenon plays out when it comes to NFL, NBA, and other professional athletes.
What’s going on?
Again, it’s the mental operating system.
Rich People Can Be Broke
The typical rich person in the United States has declared bankruptcy at least twice.
A lot of people were ribbing Donald Trump for declaring bankruptcy several times for his businesses. But the typical rich person actually either flirted with bankruptcy and restructuring or went through the process.
And usually, they bounce back. Oftentimes, they bounce back bigger, stronger, and better than ever.
That’s the power of their mental operating system.
Since we’re discussing the dreams of water leaking in a house, we have to look the 800-lb elephant right in the eye. Whatever you’re struggling with when it comes to material and emotional issues, a lot of that flows from the mental operating system you have chosen to install.
It’s All a Choice, Take Ownership of It
One of the worst things that people could hear is to be told (actually it’s more of a reminder) that they chose their life.
They would go on and on as to why in a million years, they wouldn’t choose their existence. They would rattle off with strong emotions that they wouldn’t choose their poverty.
They wouldn’t choose their abusive partner. They wouldn’t choose kids that don’t love them. They wouldn’t choose bosses that ignore them and don’t value them.
And I could go on and on. The list is endless.
But what they’re really saying, not so much to you but to themselves, is:
“I refuse to take responsibility. I refuse to take ownership.”
Just as rich people and poor people may be born in the same square with the same absence of resources and end up in different places later on in life, people who give themselves excuse after excuse to stay where they are, deep down inside, know who the real cause of their situation is.
It’s not the uncle who molested you when you were a kid. It’s not the father that was emotionally absent and couldn’t care less whether you’re alive or dead. It’s not the mother who didn’t hug you enough.
It’s not the first-grade teacher who patted you on the back and told you that you can do whatever you want to do in life or it’s not the best friend that broke your heart by sleeping with your girlfriend.
It’s none of those people. It’s how you choose to respond to that.
Most importantly, it’s the inner script or the inner dialogue that forms every time you have an experience with the Universe.
And if you choose to ignore that dialogue, you no longer write your life. It’s a script that plays out deep down inside, and it’s a core part of your mental operating system. It’s your inner narrative.
And because you refuse to be aware of it doesn’t mean that it doesn’t exist. People who give themselves excuse after excuse (and I’m talking about a wide range of people here) sometimes fall into the addictive fumes of luck.
They just say: “Well, it’s just a dice rolled. There’s nothing I could do about it. The Universe is just a giant, cruel, unfeeling lottery.”
And then, on the other end, some people are caught up in religion, and I’m talking about the wrong kind of religion.
Don’t get me wrong. I’m not advocating one particular spiritual path over another.
Instead, the wrong religion that I’m talking about focuses on the forms and somehow confuses them with substance. As Christ himself said: “I demand mercy not sacrifice.”
Have you become one of those people that have become so wrapped up in religiosity that they lost sight of the living spirit of love that is supposed to fuel, animate, and inform religion?
So, no matter how many candles you light or how many times you get on your knees and pray, it’s pointless because you’re caught up in the tentacles of empty forms.
There is no soul in it. And if there’s no soul, there is no reality.
So, pick your poison. These are the refuges of people who refuse to take responsibility for their lives because some people refuse to take ownership of their power of choice.
What Does Water Represent?
When you see water leaking in a house and the house represents your total being, (and I’m talking about your soul in a non-spiritual sense,) the water represents emotion.
Now, you may be thinking:
“That’s kind of shallow. Emotions? Happiness? Joy, anger, or guilt?
That’s pretty shallow because you can easily list them out, identify them, draw neat, or little lines around them.”
You might even think that you know where one ends, and where the other begins, but not so fast!
This is just the surface of emotions. It’s connected to something else that’s deeper and harder to pin down.
And just as you can observe on the ocean and easily understand the surface, the deeper you get from the upper levels, the harder it is to understand.
Your emotional outbursts, your emotional coping mechanisms, and your day-to-day strategy of dealing with people come from somewhere and it’s not always easy to explain.
In many cases, your mind seems to play tricks on you. You intend one thing but you end up saying and doing things that are completely different, and here you are — stumped as to why this is the case.
That’s the kind of reality I’m talking about. It’s harder to untangle and there’s a lot of chaos there.
Because if all of this is easy to pick apart, much like a scientific equation, you wouldn’t be reading this blog. You wouldn’t be here. You’d be doing something else.
A lot of ancient mythology has sprung up around this unknowable, unspeakable part of the human experience. This is the deep part that lays at the foundation of emotions.
The emotional part is the easy part. After all, you can perceive it. You can describe it.
So, when you dream of any kind of water, whether you are swimming in a lake or you’re trying to save a drowning friend, you’re dealing with emotions but more importantly, you’re dealing with the unknown, beneath those emotions.
And believe it or not, your relationship with money is also a manifestation of these strong forces.
So, when you see an image of leaking pipes in a home or a burst water line or even water that has just accumulated because of a leak somewhere that you can’t find, you’re ultimately dealing with this deeper source that’s hard to pin down, hard to contain.
While water can be frozen, it’s harder to deal with leaks because you don’t know where it begins. You don’t know where it comes from.
What you’re left with are the consequences. In this type of situation, it helps to accept that this is part of you.
Acceptance is a key step in ultimately attaining some sort of peace because this part is not controllable.
It’s so chaotic that it forms many different realities and it provides energy for different areas of your life, but it in itself cannot be frozen. It cannot be sliced and diced and reduced into an equation.
The only “control” you can have over it is to acknowledge it. Stop denying it. Give it proper respect.
And once you do that, further up the chain, things can become more manageable.
The Basics of Ceiling Meaning and Symbolism
When you are dreaming of water leaking from above, the first thing you’ll be looking at is the ceiling, and ceiling meaning and symbolism is actually pretty straightforward.
This is the limit that you imagine for yourself.
Pay attention to the word that I used. I used the word imagine.
Because human beings are so powerful in absolute terms, there’s really no limit. But when you say this to somebody, their first instinct is to laugh at you.
They say:
“How can you say that? I’m not making as much as I would like.
I’m not having sex with the people that I truly desire.
I don’t have the kind of freedom that I would imagine for myself.
What the hell are you talking about?”
But the truth is that we choose our limits. It’s part of our spiritual operating system.
And here’s the clincher: That ceiling that you imagine holds up the sky and contains your inner living space is arbitrary. It is set by you because you chose it.
Again, people would put up a fight and say:
“Look at my life. Look at my limitations.
Did I choose this? That’s crazy!
I wouldn’t choose this!”
Until and unless you man up of if you’re a female “woman up,” nothing is gonna change.
Again, you cannot control what other people throw your way, but you can control how you respond. The fact that you kept taking the hit and you imagine the limit to be at a certain point instead of another means you’ve chosen it.
And that’s good news! Because if you can choose your reality to take shape a certain way, you obviously can choose another reality.
And again, this goes back to acknowledgment.
Claim That You Have This Power and Celebrate It and Exercise It
That’s how you move the ceiling up. That’s how you stop water from the ceiling.
The worst thing that you can do is to believe that all this leaking is just the way it is. There’s nothing you can do about it.
When you do that, you become a prisoner of your emotions. But in reality, you are held down by what you choose to be real in your life.
Everything that you think is real: from your spiritual nature, the symbols that make their way through your life, your family, or your relationships — all of these are your choices.
All of these are constructions, vibrations from the truth that emanates from you that you refuse to take control of and responsibility for.
Use Your Imagination
Pay close attention to your dream of water leaks.
Are you panicked? Do you feel that there’s gonna be some sort of flooding?
Are you worried about potential repair costs?
What exactly is going through your mind? Maybe you feel powerless and helpless.
The truth is, as I keep repeating above, you are in control. And the reason why you feel that you are gripped by forces beyond your control or forces that you can’t quite describe is a failure of imagination.
A lot of people are under the impression that John Lennon’s famous song John Lennon’s is some sort of hippie anthem.
“Imagine there’s no heaven. It’s easy if you try. No hell below us. Above us, only sky.”
What John Lennon is actually talking about is the power of imagination.
Besides Heaven and Hell, there are other things that are imagined. These things are expressed through imagination: taxes, justice, government, social contract.
These aren’t real. They’re products of imagination. They’re only as real as we make them out to be.
And believe me, being arrested because you violated some crime is as real as it gets because when you feel those grave hours a day, they are real.
But they all start out with imagination.
Who told you that you have to live in a state where you have to follow a certain set of rules? Who told you that if you violate those rules, you need to show up in front of a judge?
That’s the power of imagination, and it’s only real if you buy into it.
And John Lesson is saying that you have to reclaim this power because eventually, we become prisoners of it, especially when he was talking about property.
“Imagine no possessions. I wonder if you can.”
So, when you see this powerful dream of leaking within your home, sit up and pay attention. Your subconscious is trying to tell you a very important truth about the sense of powerlessness that you feel deep down inside.
Because you can, even if you are on your death bed, still choose the world you inhabit.
It’s all a power of choice. We’re all trapped in a prison of flesh.
The imagination is the key that turns the door, and you may think that this is fanciful. You might even be dismissing this as the stuff of a typical liberal arts college classroom.
But is it really?
Because the things that you have resigned yourself to defining as everyday reality are just as imaginary as the equations of theoretical physics put up on a chalkboard.
The consequences of your choices are just as real as you make them out to be.
And how do you change that reality? Make different choices.
Imagine the World a Different Way
You best believe that Bill Gates imagines the world a certain way more along the same lines as Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk. And if you’re struggling to try to come up with a few coins day-to-day, it’s because you’re imagining things a different way.
Springing water can definitely symbolize the vulgar reality of money.
But please understand that money is a reflection of something deeper. Whatever it is you’re struggling with when it comes to money can all be traced back to spiritual truths.
Imagine Your Life a Different Way
Imagine that there are no limits. Imagine that you don’t have to define yourself by your past.
Imagine that you can forgive yourself and recreate yourself. Imagine that happiness is wanted it to be.
Dream Example #1
I was in my home watching TV with my family, and the weather was sunny. The sky was clear, and it was like any other day. The children were playing hard outside the house with blue sweats scrolling from their cheeks.
The strange thing was that I was not shocked seeing the children’s sweat is in blue. There were a total of 6 children playing a peculiar game of jumping over each other.
There were a total of 3 boys and three girls. It was often the boys who jumped over the girls. The children were enjoying their game and were enthusiastic. It was a great view.
The weather was so hot that the children were drenched in sweat. Two of the playing children had a small fight, and eventually, they came out to be siblings.
The siblings were cursing each other and were furious to give a punch on each other’s face.
The other four children compromised the siblings and made them play with some terms and conditions.
Yet the siblings continued to play, and they were not as happy and enthusiastic as before the fight. One of the siblings might have some issues with the T&C.
Then without any caution without any change in the colour of the bright, the rain started to pour down. The sky was very clear for a second, and now all of a sudden, there’s a massive amount of rain poured down.
It was very strange to see that the daylight was no more, now the view has changed to a pitch-black rainy night. The children were nowhere to be found, and there was no sound of rain pouring down.
The rain was so intense that it would feel like standing under a giant waterfall, but the rain made no sound. I have no idea why there’s no sound in the pouring rain.
As the rain intensified, the more silent the place went, Complete silence. My family was so calm that they had no idea what was actually happening. They don’t seem to bother about the heavy rain or the silence.
As the already furious rain increased, the rainwater entered our house. Our house was drowning in rainwater as the rain outside poured more and more.
Then a weird thing started to arise here. In an unexpected way, all the metal products started to float. And all lite products were drowning, which was completely opposite.
But my family didn’t even consider this miracle. That was strange.
As the rainwater filled the house, we started to drown in the water — My whole family was drowning in the water. But they were encountering this situation like any other normal thing. I had no idea what was going on in my house and with my family.
I realized that it was a dream when I found myself waking up drenched with sweat all over my body. It was a Dream, and sure it is; that’s where you can expect these strange things.
Dream Example #2
It was just a normal day. Nothing unusual was happening. My son, who was on holiday, was sitting on the couch gazing blankly at the TV. I couldn’t see what he was watching, but I could hear the funny Tom and Jerry sounds from the television.
My son got up and started kicking a ball, and I joined him. We started playing, kicking the ball to one another across the sitting room. It was strange playing about 50 meters from one another inside the house. When we kicked the ball, it moved in long arcs landing on our feet perfectly.
The whole situation was strange enough, but I didn’t think much about it, and we continued to play some more.
As we continued to kick the ball, I felt some cold water up to my ankles. The next thing I could see was water flowing from the kitchen into the sitting room.
After what seemed like hours of play, the leakage in the kitchen slowly created a pool of icy, cold water up to my waist. Yet, we kept kicking the ball to and fro. Whenever my son kicked the ball, the water did not splash, but when I kicked the ball back, I splashed water everywhere.
My legs felt heavier every time I kicked the ball, but we continued to play as if nothing was wrong.
A few minutes later, I was chest-deep in the water. On the other side of the sitting room, my son was standing on dry ground and he could kick the ball fine. But I could only hit it back with my head.
I began to float as the sitting room turned into an Olympic-sized swimming pool.
As I was preparing to hit the ball back to my son when a big wave of water swept me, my son disappeared, and I was completely submerged in the water. As I tried to call out my son’s name, a whole gallon of water shoved itself down my throat and into my insides.
The water was crushing my chest, and the more I struggled, the more I sank deeper into the water. The room became a deep dark pool as I continued to sink. I could see underneath everything in the house, including the sofas. Nothing else was sinking apart from me.
My legs felt like they were tied together, my hands couldn’t move anymore, and I continued to go deeper, darkness swallowed me. I knew life was over.
But, just as I was about to melt into the darkness, I landed on my back, the water had disappeared, and I could hear sweet melodies.
It was morning again and the birds were chirping outside. I was able to move and breathe again. I wasn’t drowning. I was safe inside our warm bed. I could still feel my heart pounding as I moved back to reality.
It took me some more minutes to realize it was just a dream and that there was no leakage in the house.
Dream Example #3
Yesterday, I went to my bed at night. I was much tired. The busy routine of the whole day made me tired. Often, I used my mobile for some time before going to sleep. Today, I did not interest in mobile. Within a while, I was in deep slumber.
I saw in my dream that heavy rain burst. Due to rainwater, leakage started in the house. To see the water in the rooms, I became worried. I called my husband to see what happened. At the start, we did not know how water entered the rooms. I managed to go out to see the situation.
I saw that sky was full of black clouds. Suddenly, a cloudburst started; there was heavy rain in the area where I was living. I viewed after the heavy rain of 30 minutes leakage started from the ceiling of my house. I saw that my living room was full of water. My living room furniture was floating in the water because the rain was too severe, water leakage from the ceiling of the living room was high in pressure that within 1-hour water started to collect in my living room.
I saw in the dream that my husband tried to remove water from the living room, but the rain was still continuous. We both thought that it was impossible for us now to remove water from the living area because we don’t have any material by which we can seal the hole in the ceiling from which water is rushing towards the living room. After seeing my favorite couch, I feel sad.
We both were still thinking about how to remove water from the living area.
Then, suddenly we hear a voice dropping something in the bedroom. We both rushed towards the bedroom. A hole in the ceiling was visible. That hole in the ceiling area from which heavy rainwater rushes looked horrible. I and my better half were worried about this water leakage because we purchased this house with a handsome amount.
We both never thought about such low-cost material that becomes the cause of ceiling leakage through which water leaked into the house. My elder daughter woke up, and she came down by stairs. She was shocked to see the situation of the house.
Then my elder daughter gave me the idea that opens the sewerage pipe from the kitchen. So we did this. As the rain stopped, water started to move from the house. Although it took time, steadily water moved. We felt relaxed when the drainage was complete. Now, everyone was happy to see the home clear. But, I was still thinking if the clouds burst again then, what would happen.
Then I woke up. I was on my bed that was completely dry. There was no rain and no water in my house. I breathed with joy and then slept again. But, I thought about the people who were homeless. They lead a miserable life. They had no proper place to live in natural catastrophic situations.
Dream Example #4
I couldn’t wait to enter my family’s farmhouse. I had not been there for the past 3 years. I had been waiting for weeks for my vacation to begin. Now, I was finally standing in front of it while my father unlocked the front door.
The farmhouse was a two-storey building – the ground floor and the first floor. But, it was not as welcoming as I had remembered it.
The exterior paint had faded, and small parts of the wooden window frames had chipped off.
When my father opened the door, I felt musty air reaching out to him from within. Along with it was the off-putting smell of damp wood.
Along with my family, I spent the whole day unpacking their luggage and cleaning the house. I didn’t like it one bit but worked quickly.
My family was to stay there for the next 2 weeks, so I figured it’s not too bad if it took 1 day to make the place more livable.
The evening came and motivated everyone to finish cleaning up quickly. There was very little work left to do, and could have freshly grilled steak for dinner – my favorite!
Finally, the much-awaited time to begin grilling arrived. I was keen to help my dad with it, so I rushed to the ground floor bathroom to wash my hands.
When I entered the bathroom, I noticed that the air seemed a lot more damper than other areas of the farmhouse. I looked around and noticed a leak from the ceiling on the corner above the sink.
It wasn’t a small leak. Water was cascading down while remaining in contact with the wall. This wall was made from wood and had begun to warp due to constantly being in contact with water.
I wondered how no one noticed the leak since that morning. I ran to the upper floor to check out the leak’s source.
I entered the bedroom that was directly above the bathroom. This room also seemed to be mustier than other rooms, so the source had to be here somewhere, I thought.
I looked around for a minute and noticed a large bucket filled with water. That’s odd, I thought. The bucket was filled fully, even though there was no tap to add more water to it.
The leak downstairs had been going on for a long time – long enough to distort the wooden wall.
As I was pondering all this, a long octopus tentacle shot out of the bucket and wrapped itself around my arm. Before I could do anything, it pulled me towards the bucket.
The water splashed on my face, and I saw Richard, my brother, standing over him.
“Wake up sleepy head!” said Richard. “We’ve got to get dinner ready.” It took men a few moments to realize that I had fallen asleep on a chair while cleaning. I heaved a sigh of relief and went to the bathroom to freshen up. Thankfully, there was no leak there this time.
